Kevin McCracken began working full-time for Indiana University in 2011 on the IUPUC campus. He began serving as the Director of IUPUI's Adaptive Educational Services in 2018. In addition, he previously served as an Associate Faculty member, beginning in 1997. He taught courses in business, computer science, computer technology, psychology, and counseling. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology, a master's degree in education, a master's degree in business, and a doctorate in education.
He had a 16-year career in community mental health services where he worked as a staff therapist, program director, and assistant vice-president. During his career in mental health services, he founded and grew a social enterprise that employed people with psychiatric disabilities. Additionally, he established a grant-funded regional training center for people with disabilities.
McCracken and his wife Laura, a 7th-grade writing teacher, live near Nashville, IN. They enjoy hiking, kayaking, camping, and gardening.
