In its seventh year of existence, the Social Justice Symposium at IU Indianapolis is a free day-long conference, for faculty, staff, students, and community members to exchange knowledge about social justice issues through workshops, speakers, and dialogues. Coordinated by the Social Justice Specialist in collaboration with the Social Justice Scholars, and the Graduate Assistant for Social Justice Education, this event focuses on student lead community building. This year’s Symposium takes place on April 21st, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., in the IU Indianapolis Campus Center.
Since the first Symposium in 2018, the Social Justice Symposium has grown to a program with an average of 200 attendees and 20 presentations or workshops offered by IU Indianapolis students, faculty, staff and greater Indianapolis community members. For more information on the first three Symposiums, please check out the program booklets below. This year’s booklet will be made available following the in-person event.
