How to use Testing Accommodations

Accessible Educational Services has our own Testing Lab located within University Library (UL 3135H). If you would like to schedule an upcoming test/quiz with us, please check out the guide below.It is your responsibility to schedule every test/quiz you wish to take with AES no less than 48 BUSINESS HOURS prior to the exam.

1. Have you submitted a Semester Request for the current semester in Accommodate? If not, there are directions located on the student page.
2. Login to Accommodate and under the navigation pane you'll hit Testing Request.
3. At the bottom of the screen, you'll hit New Booking Request.
4. Select your class, ignore the rest of the first form, and hit Check Availability.
5. To schedule outside of your classroom hours: 
   1. For Online Tests - The system initially shows only options for when your class meets. Please select the date closest to when you would like to test and Accommodate will open a form for you to fill out. Within that form there is a portion where you can indicate a different date and time. 
   2. For Paper Tests - Please get prior approval from your instructor to test outside of class time. Then when you are scheduling in Accommodate, the system initially shows only options for when your class meets. Please select the date that your class is testing.
6. Fill out the second form with as much information as you can.
7. You will get an email after submitting the request, and another one after we approve it, using testing information from your instructor.

Important Test Scheduling Note

*NEW POLICY* Please schedule all FINAL examinations for the AES Testing Lab no less than 7 days prior to the start of finals.

The AES Testing Lab provides in-person proctoring for IU Indianapolis students who have testing accommodations. Due to the high influx of student requests for accommodations prior to finals week, AES cannot guarantee academic accommdoations if you register two weeks before the final exam. It is open from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday. This means:

• Do not schedule a test for the weekend or public holiday (Finals are an exception).

• Do not schedule a test before 9am (Finals are an exception). 

• Do not schedule a test to end after 5pm (Finals are an exception).
