Preference will be given to students who are members of affiliate student groups of the Center who have demonstrated a record of academic excellence, as defined by the selection committee, demonstrated leadership and community service. The number, amount and recipients of the support will be determined by the Scholarship Committee of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Your gift will support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Student Support Services. The LGBTQ+ Center is an inclusive campus community that welcomes people of all identities and provides support, resources, and advocacy to IU Indianapolis students, staff, faculty, alumni, and the surrounding community.

The Donors have a preference for black students. The number, amount(s), and recipient(s) of the Scholarship will be determined by the Scholarship Committee of the Office in consultation with the Black Faculty and Staff Council.
Gifts to this account will be used to support the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Faculty Staff Council, within the IU Indianapolis Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. Every dollar counts. It counts for professional development, it counts for programming, it counts for scholarship. Gifts will support scholarships for students on the IU Indianapolis campus who have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Services. Because, as part of its mission, Indiana University is committed to diversity, special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students, and/or students with diverse cultural experiences. Preference will be given to students who do not qualify for federal or state-based financial aid because of their citizenship status, such as undocumented and/or specially documented students, refugees, and/or students who have been granted political asylum.
Amber Pratcher was a valued and beloved IU Indianapolis employee from 2007 to her sudden death in 2015. Amber had an outstanding work ethic and used her innovation in technology to benefit diversity initiatives across the campus. Her exemplary leadership and dedication to cultural awareness, as well as to the success of diverse students at IU Indianapolis, helped to elevate the University’s reputation in the Indianapolis Community.
Amber believed in “lifting as she climbed.” By serving as a mentor for the IU Indianapolis Student African American Sisterhood (SAAS), she encouraged students from similar backgrounds to persist and succeed in their educational pursuits.
In 2017, the Amber Curtis Pratcher Memorial Scholarship was established to honor her memory and to continue the support of SAAS members at IU Indianapolis.
